FAQ - What is the MilkCan ?

Answer - The Milk Can football game is our cross town rival game Chino vs. Don Lugo. Chino hosts several "Milk Can" sports competitions or tournaments. The name"Milk Can" of course because Chino has such a rich Dairy Heritage. This year Chino will be the away team so we get to enjoy Don Lugos Marching Conquistadores half time preformance !

FAQ - I dont have a video camera, is there any way I can get a copy of the 77TH's preformance ?

Answer - Some of the competitions hire recording compaines to video the bands preformances. You can purchase a copy for about 20$. You will be able to purchase our preformance at our invitational as well.

FAQ - Can we buy tickets to the competitions in advance ?

Answer - You can pre-buy tickets for some of the competitions in advance. This insures that you will get to sit in the preferred area (which is up high right below the judges viewing area). That way you will get a better view of the formations that the band is making !

FAQ - What is the battery ?

Answer - The Battery is the marching section of the percussion unit. You will see the battery on the field. As opposed to the Pit which performs stationary in front of the field.

FAQ - Whats with the different colored T-Shirts.

Answer - Its easier to see the band as it would look in their uniforms if they rehearse all in the same color. Different colors on different days. Getting 2 of the same color shirts will keep you a step ahead of the game !!

FAQ - What is the difference between Symphonic band, Wind Ensamble and Concert Band.

Answer - In the spring the band breaks apart into 3 different groups. Wind Ensamble are the more experienced players in the band. It usually consists of Juniors and Seniors. Concert Band are less experienced players, usually consisting of Freshman and Sophmores. Symphonic Band is a joining of both groups.

FAQ - What does it mean to letter in Band.

Answer - Students earn points towards their letter as described in the Blue Book handed out to each student at the beginning of the year. Parents are required to read this book. After a student has earned his Letter ,, they can continue to letter each year earning an additional note to place on their lettermans jacket.

FAQ - What time should people should arrive at field show competitions ?

For fieldshow events, it's wise to arrive earlier than the Cavalry's performance time.  By the time Chino performs, which is usually later in the event, the stadium seating is very full.  It's nice to sit together in a group and cheer on our kids, and its fun to hear all the other groups, your sure to hear some favorite tunes !

FAQ - Sometimes I dont have a way to get to a competition, is there a way to get a ride with another parent ?

Answer - Please don’t hesitate to let the group know you would like a ride to the event. There are plenty of open spaces and everyone is more than willing to help out.  It’s a great way to meet new people and also will give you the opportunity to see your child perform and not miss the show. Tuesday night practices are a great time to see the kids rehearse, meet parents, and inquire about a ride.
